Kirtan - Singing of mantras meditation £10.00 Contact Lynn to book: 07870 373545

Come and join kirtan leader Rawia for a beautiful heart opening Kirtan.
Whether you have tried it and felt the amazing benefits or are a complete beginner, we would love so much for you to come and see what the yoga of devotion is all about. You do not need to have a ‘good’ voice or anything else for that matter, just bring yourself and see what happens.

Rawia Baitalmal
Rawia has traveled extensively in India, living over 10 years immersed in the culture of this continent. Her love of Kirtan began 20 years ago and she has been chanting ever since. After returning back to the UK she recognised a need to make this beautiful heart opening practise more available here in the north west of England and recently immersed herself in the Yoga Teaching Training with the Yoga Alliance to enable her to deepen her own practise and lead Kirtans that create a safe, supported space for potential expansion to occur.

Kirtan is a form of bhakti (BHAK-tee), the yoga of devotion; jnana (gyah-nah), the yoga of wisdom; and mantra, the yoga of sound. Mantras are words, phrases, and syllables that are repeated until they become integrated into the chanter’s consciousness. Today, many people are discovering that this sacred, traditional practice allows them to access inner peace, calm, connection, and non-thinking. As a form of meditation, it is easy and effortless to do, and as we allow the music to do the work, we can shift our attention inwards. The practise allows us to connect deeply with ourselves and the people around us. It can be a fantastic remedy for many number of things from stress, to sleep disorders, depression, and anxiety.
